My Approach
My approach is informed by my education, clinical training, and experience, which you can read more about below. I have a strong background in research and statistics, specifically inferential statistics and Bayesian analysis. I have doctorate-level training in clinical interventions from multiple theoretical orientations, including cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, and client-centered approaches This has informed an approach to clinical work that is consistent with empirically-supported findings and adapted based on clinical judgment and client preference.
Practically, my approach is informed based on the issues you would like to address. The process starts with an initial call to assess fit prior to scheduling a first full session.
I am available for in-person sessions on Tuesdays in Midtown and Thursdays in NoMad and for virtual telehealth sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I typically see clients on a weekly or biweekly basis.
Who I work with
I work one-on-one with adults seeking personal and professional growth. Many of my clients are professionals, entrepreneurs, and athletes seeking to pursue ambitious careers while also building meaningful relationships and purposeful lives. These endeavors often contribute to significant stress that can become excessive or overwhelming when not adequately managed. This can lead to symptoms like anxiety, burnout, attentional issues, interpersonal difficulties, substance misuse, and mood changes. Many people reach out when these symptoms begin to noticeably impact their functioning or cause a significant level of distress. Therapy can be immensely helpful at alleviating these symptoms and restoring a sense of well-being.
I have extensive experience working with professionals and entrepreneurs in finance, technology, and related fields. I offer executive coaching for clients who prefer a more directive approach focused on performance and outcomes.
Professional Background
My interest in psychology started in college at Wake Forest, where I studied cognitive neuroscience. I moved to New York and spent the first few years after college working in a physiology lab at the Bronx VA hospital and Mount Sinai while completing a master’s degree at NYU with an emphasis on statistics, research methods, and organizational psychology.
I attended the PhD program in clinical psychology at LIU-Brooklyn where I completed advanced clinical training in psychological assessment and diagnosis, therapeutic interventions, and empirical clinical research. My clinical training also included externship programs at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and the NYU Langone Military Family Clinic. I matched for an APA-accredited internship at NYU Health + Hospitals Kings County, where I completed rotations in acute inpatient psychiatric care, forensic psychology, and neuropsychological assessment.
My research during graduate school primarily focused on the psychological impacts of trauma and post-traumatic growth. I worked on multiple research studies with military veterans and active duty military personnel post-deployment through the NYU Cohen Veterans Network. I also worked as a psychometrician on phase II and III clinical research trials for ketamine and other pharmaceuticals. My doctoral dissertation studied grit, resilience, and personality characteristics as predictors of academic performance and psychological well-being.
In 2020, I earned my PhD and transitioned from hospitals into private practice. I spent six years at a group practice based in Midtown Manhattan working with high-functioning adults. I developed expertise in treating anxiety symptoms through a protocol that integrates cognitive reappraisal, behavioral activation and nervous system regulation. During this time I also began to incorporate executive coaching into my practice for clients seeking a more direct approach focused on outcomes. From 2022 to 2026, I expanded my role to become Director of Clinical Training, where I was responsible for developing and managing a post-doctoral fellowship program. In this capacity I provided supervision and consultation to clinicians at the individual, group, and practice-wide level.
In 2026, I launched my private practice, where I am committed to providing the highest quality of clinical care and personal attention.
